FOLA Road-Tests “9” at Home in Ibadan

FOLA came home to Ibadan on Saturday night and put the week before 9 on stage at Agodi Gardens: unreleased music on the way in, the year he already owns in the set, Bella Shmurda beside him where the city still claims both of them.

He opened on new material the night tagged to the Striker album, then folded the room into records that already ran the Official Nigeria Top 100 this year. “B4 B4” hit so hard the garden made him run it twice. “One Condition,” “caricature,” and the street answers that built the countdown filled the middle. Bella walked on as the Dangbana partner the album already named. it’s over, the Dangbana cut with Zlatan that closes the 9 tracklist in TurnTable’s early read, was always a label-and-city handshake; putting that partner on the Agodi stage five days before the Friday drop keeps the audition inside the house that signed him.

Ibadan is the pressure on this week.

Catharsis in September 2025 was the debut that left home for Lagos scale. 2026 answered with the No. 1s and a Headies ballot that already puts his name next to longer careers. Bringing that load back to Agodi is how an Ibadan boy tests whether the striker number still works where people can still say they walked past him.

Friday is when 9 has to score on release day. Saturday night already asked the garden whether the week sounded ready.
