Ruger Will Close ICONIQ Fest’s Four Lagos Nights on December 22, Under His Own BlownBoy Name

Ruger has a date at The Lekki Coliseum: December 22, the last of four nights ICONIQ Fest has booked there this Detty December. “LAGOS for the very first time and many more times to come,” he wrote on X on Monday evening, over a poster of himself in his eye patch, pointing straight at the camera.

The ticket link followed about 50 minutes later, an early-bird page he shared with a single heart. ICONIQ Fest’s own post called it the “Blownboy early bird ticket,” which is the name on the poster too.

“Very first time” is his wording, and it needs a small reading. Ruger has been on Lagos stages before, including a TRACE Live set with a live band at Terra Kulture in March 2025. What he is promising here is a night with only his name on top, the thing he first teased on October 19: “For the very first time RUGER LIVE IN LAGOS.”

The three nights before his belong to other people. BNXN opens the run on December 19 with what the festival is calling the Still In Charge concert, FOLA has December 20 for a night billed as Cloud 9, and Oxlade takes December 21 with Plug The Ox. FOLA arrives with “miss u ii (nriri)” spending a second week at No. 1 on TurnTable’s Official Nigeria Top 100, as we reported on Monday night. The festival’s site also lists an Abuja night on December 16.

ICONIQ Fest also has something to fix in Lagos. After BNXN: The Captain Experience last December, the festival posted that “while the concert was successfully held, some ticket holders were unable to gain entry,” and offered the people affected free tickets to The Plutomanian Fest at the same venue, or a refund through its DMs. Fans brought that night up again within hours of BNXN’s 2026 announcement, and the festival answered one of them on X that it had made “improvements across venue, security, and crowd management to ensure a much better experience this year.” All four Lagos nights now sit at The Lekki Coliseum, and the Ruger night is the one that will close them out.

In 2022, The NATIVE’s Emmanuel Esomnofu opened a profile of Ruger on a clip from a packed room in Port Harcourt: Ruger walking off, the crowd still loud, then turning back as “Girlfriend” came on.

That was the Jonzing World Ruger, the D’Prince signee behind Pandemic and “Bounce.” He left the label, set up BlownBoy Entertainment and put out BlownBoy RU through it in 2025, and the festival’s hashtag for December 22 is #BlownboyFest. He and BNXN, who opens the run three nights earlier, also made the joint project RnB together.

The first one is set for December 22. “Many more times to come” is the half of the post Lagos will hold him to.
