Take away the features and FOLA still has a billion. The singer has passed 1 billion Spotify streams on songs where he is the lead artist, Chartmasters reported this afternoon, and WETALKSTATS counts him as the 20th Nigerian artist to get there.

He becomes the 20th Nigerian artist to reach this milestone.
This is a separate count from the one that made news last night. FOLA passed 1.1 billion streams across all his credits on October 28, a tally that includes his guest spots on other artists’ songs. Today’s figure covers only his own lead credits, which puts the songs he fronts, from the Catharsis records to the new album, in the same club on their own.
9, his sophomore album, came out on October 9, so it has had three weeks to push the lead count over the line.
