Newly Married L.A.X Has “The Only Lover Boy Left” Out Friday

L.A.X has a wedding just behind him and an album two days ahead. On Friday, November 6, he puts out The Only Lover Boy Left, a 12-track album with Olamide, TML Vibez, JaQi and DOTTi The Deity on it. “I am excited,” he wrote this morning. “Sweet music only.”

The two dates have been running side by side for weeks. “The night before my wedding. 1 week to the only lover boy left album,” he posted on October 20, and today he thanked Blaqbonez, Oxlade, Shoday, Joeboy, Adekunle Gold and Fola for performing on the day.

Olamide turns up on “Belinda,” track 11. TML Vibez is on “MAGAA,” JaQi on “Owa,” and DOTTi The Deity on “IYAWO,” the Yoruba word for wife, which came out on October 23 as the album’s first look. The record opens with “Morenike” and closes on “FINE WINE,” with “Saint Tropez,” “Arewa” and “First Lady” in between. It comes out on his own Rasaki Music through EMPIRE.

Love songs are where he started. “Caro,” with Wizkid, got him signed to Starboy in 2013, and the new album’s title reads like a man who never left that lane.

The Only Lover Boy Left is out Friday. It is available to pre-add on Apple Music now.
