Blaqbonez Joked About Lagos Agberos. Seyi Vibez Answered With Odumodu.

“lagos agbero people please i am not seyi vibez dammit.”

Blaqbonez posted that at 7:08 p.m. on Sunday, and for about an hour it read as a lookalike joke. Fans have been lining up photos of the two men for a while, and the easy reading was that touts at Lagos motor parks keep greeting him by Seyi Vibez’s name. Then Seyi Vibez saw it, and he heard the word sitting next to his name.

Between 8:30 and 8:57 p.m., Seyi posted at least eight times. He opened by saying he had planned to curse Blaqbonez but would not give him “free promo,” and a minute later he posted “Stream SWAGUU.” The rest went where it would hurt. “Muyeez blow pass your papa,” he wrote, pointing at the teenager he signed to his Vibez Inc label in 2024. “Blaqbones your daddy na still Odumodu if you like go up and down.” “Rap is dead already jare.” He told Blaqbonez to carry his “rubbish clout” somewhere else, warned that anyone who tries to align himself with him “na beating you go meet there,” and ended the run with a question: “Abi make I sign blaqbones.”

The timing made it louder. At 8:06 p.m., between the joke and the barrage, Blaqbonez had quoted the news that “IKEBE 3000,” his single with Asake, had become his first No. 1 on the Official UK Afrobeats Singles Chart, in its fourth week. “u know i envisioned it / came back stronger close to the finishing / its a marathon this no be sprint,” he wrote. The night he finally topped a chart in London, the conversation at home was about whose face he has.

Odumodu was the sharpest name Seyi could have reached for. Blaqbonez and ODUMODUBLVCK spent much of last year trading jabs, and in July the fight moved to lawyers: a pre-action letter dated July 7 demanded ₦2.55 billion over posts in which Odumodu called Blaqbonez a “sexual abuser.” Odumodu answered on X with “I STAND ON IT.” Seyi’s chart jab has numbers under it too. When “IKEBE 3000” entered Nigeria’s official singles chart at No. 5 in October, it was Blaqbonez’s 13th top-ten hit, against Odumodu’s 20. The song sitting at No. 1 above it that week was Seyi’s “Ilome.”

“Rap is dead” is an old wound with a known answer. When Wizkid said it in 2022, Blaqbonez posted a selfie captioned “I’m not dead, I’m handsome.” He has always met this kind of thing with a grin, and he did again last night. At 8:58 p.m. he quoted Seyi’s first post with “se this guy dey whine ni? 😂,” asking, in effect, whether Seyi was pulling his leg.

Seyi’s own explanation came at 9:43 p.m., in a post to his fans. “Make una no vex say i talk anyhow my fans,” he wrote. “No be every time person go Dey mumu / Lagos na place wey good people Dey not agbero.” Lagos is the part of his story he claims hardest. “I’m really from Lagos. My dad is from Lagos,” he said in a September interview about SWAGUU. Heard through that, Blaqbonez had put the word for a park tout beside his name and his city in one sentence. An hour later Seyi added: “GOD no go allow me resemble you.”

He has done this before. In May, when Adekunle Gold sang “They love my Fuji, this no be Fuji Moto” on “Life of the Faaji,” a line many heard as a nod to Seyi’s 2025 project, Seyi answered within hours: “Adekunle Gold you’re wack. And your swag is wack. Old fool!” That lyric could be read two ways too, and he picked the one that called for a reply.

This morning, Seyi was still going. At 9:11 a.m. he posted: “All of una foolishness for twitter no mean say make blaqbones no chop him cane / Real life different from twitter.”

That is the line worth watching. Both men have a lot riding on the next two months. SWAGUU took back No. 1 on Nigeria’s albums chart last week, and Blaqbonez headlines Elite Fest in December. One of them is still laughing. The other says real life is different from Twitter.
