Fast rising Nigerian star Mavo is enjoying one of the biggest moments of his young career after releasing his long awaited single “Mofe”, which has surged to the number one position on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Songs chart barely 18 hours after its release.
The release has sparked an iconic chart takeover for the Edo State born singer, who now occupies six different spots within the Top 10 of the country’s Apple Music chart. The achievement highlights the rapidly growing demand for his music and confirms his rising influence within Nigeria’s new generation of Afrobeats artists.
Leading the charge is “Mofe”, the newly released single that currently sits at number one. Close behind it are several other songs performed or featured by Mavo, creating a remarkable presence for the young star across the chart.
Among the Top 10 entries are “Big Bum Bum”, a collaboration with Kidd Carder that currently holds the number three spot. “Aura Salad”, created alongside SSSoundGawd, appears at number four. Further down the chart, “Body (Danz)” sits at number eight, while the collaborative record “Money Constant” occupies the ninth position. Rounding out the impressive run is “Tumo Weto”, which secures the number ten spot.
The dominance of six songs within the Apple Music Nigeria Top 10 shows the mainstream appeal of Mavo, this is far from a newcomer’s luck, these are the types of records only OGs attain. Mofe is the hottest song in the market right now, and from the reception it’s getting, that status will be maintained for quite some time.
