Elochukwu Akpulonu is a Lagos-based music journalist, cultural researcher, and digital creative documenting Afrobeats and African pop culture for a global audience. Writing primarily for HypeTribeNG, his work spans artist profiles, reviews, long-form pieces, industry milestones, and cultural commentary, alongside a dedicated focus on preserving and explaining the history and inner workings of Nigerian music for a wider audience. He approaches every story with a researcher's eye for accuracy and a storyteller's instinct for what makes a moment matter.
Beyond writing, Elo brings hands-on experience in event management and brand storytelling, and pairs his editorial work with a strong command of WordPress publishing and SEO, ensuring the stories he tells are built to travel as far as the culture they document.
When he's off the clock, you'll find him arguing football tactics as a die-hard Manchester United and Real Madrid supporter, or out on the pitch himself.
