Tems Surpasses 6.1 Billion Streams Across All Credits on Spotify

Tems has crossed another major streaming landmark, surpassing 6.1 billion streams across all credits on Spotify. The milestone extends a run that has seen the Nigerian singer add roughly 500 million streams to her total in under four months, a pace that continues to set her apart among African artists on the platform.

The new figure builds on a trajectory that has been on fire since the start of the year. Tems opened 2026 as the most streamed African artist on Spotify for the month of March, pulling in more than 40 million monthly listeners at the time. That momentum carried into the following months, with her cumulative total climbing steadily from 5.5 billion in May to 5.9 billion by mid-July, and now past 6.1 billion.

Her catalogue continues to punch above its size. Every major project she has released has cleared 50 million streams on Spotify. That strength runs across both her solo output and her features, with high-profile collaborations doing significant work alongside her own discography.

Chief among those collaborations remains “WAIT FOR U,” her feature with Future and Drake, which made her the first African female artist tied to a billion-stream track on Spotify. The song, built around a sample of her 2020 single “Higher,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and later earned Tems her first Grammy win. That single moment has continued to anchor a broader catalogue that keeps drawing new listeners into her world.

With 6.1 billion streams now behind her, Tems remains one of the biggest exports from the shores of this great continent.
