The seventh studio album is live across DSPs under Effyzzie Music, dated September 11. Spotify lists sixteen songs and about forty-five minutes. The same project the tracklist graphic previewed earlier this week is now streamable end to end.
The guest sheet still does the geography work. Ferre Gola (DRC) on “Coco Na Yam,” Spyro on “Yemi Mi Lova,” Don Jazzy on “Ala Bekee,” Bien on “Don’t Be Shy,” Sofiya Nzau and Njerae on “Earth Song,” Singuila on “Paradise,” Teni on “Away,” Jeriq on “Overtake,” and Fave on the bonus “Worry.” Solo cuts such as “Alhaja,” “General Market,” “Minister of Enjoyment,” and “Titanium” keep her own voice on the spine. As reported earlier when the tracklist landed, that map stretches Nigeria, Congo, Kenya, and the French-language diaspora on one board.
Early ears are already picking lanes. “Coco Na Yam” is the Congo handshake; “Titanium” is getting called out for Latin clave, disco snare, and highlife clap stack. The record does not need a longer sermon today. It needed to be up. It is.
