Seyi Vibez’s “SWAGUU” Album Storms 55 Countries, Sweeps Spotify Nigeria Chart in Historic First Week

Seyi Vibez is having a moment that numbers simply cannot ignore. Three days after the release of his new album “SWAGUU,” the project has taken over charts across the globe, posting numbers that place the Ayeba crooner among the biggest streaming stories of the year so far.

On Apple Music, “SWAGUU” is currently charting in 55 countries, hitting the number one spot in four of them, Benin, Gambia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone. The album is also sitting comfortably in the top ten in several other markets including Cameroon, Mali, Malta, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, and Kenya, while making notable appearances in less expected territories like Ireland, Kuwait, Oman, and the United Kingdom. Its reach even stretches into markets like the United States, Canada, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, a spread that speaks to how far Seyi Vibez’s sound continues to travel beyond the usual Afrobeats strongholds.

The Spotify numbers tell an even bigger story. A day after release, “SWAGUU” achieved a clean sweep of the Spotify Nigeria Top Songs chart, with all fourteen tracks from the album occupying the entire top fourteen positions. “Volume” led the pack with 838,252 streams, followed by “GTA” and “Ilome,” with the rest of the tracklist, including “Diamonds,” “Pansa,” “God,” “Back 2 U,” “Melanin,” “Akpan Akpari,” the title track “Swaguu,” “El Jaja,” “Alubarika,” “Alafia,” and “Oblee,” filling out the remaining spots. It is the kind of complete chart domination that only happens when an artist’s fanbase shows up in full force on release day.

On its opening day alone, “SWAGUU” pulled in 7,734,476 streams on Spotify Nigeria, landing at fourth place on the list of the thirty biggest first day streaming numbers for a project on the platform in the country. Globally, the album performed even stronger, racking up 9.24 million first day streams on Spotify worldwide, good enough for sixth place on the global first day streaming chart.

By its third day, the momentum was still holding strong. “SWAGUU” recorded 5.17 million streams globally and 4,285,996 streams in Nigeria on Spotify, numbers that show an album with real staying power rather than just a strong opening burst. To top it all off, “SWAGUU” debuted at number one on the Spotify Top Albums Debut Global chart, cementing its status as one of the standout album releases of the year.

For an artist who has built his career on raw storytelling and street gospel sensibilities, these numbers confirm what fans already knew, Seyi Vibez’s audience has grown far beyond Nigeria’s borders, and “SWAGUU” might just be his biggest project yet.
