Olamide Was “Probably” Done With Albums in 2022. Time and Space Arrives Nov. 16

In February 2022, Olamide told fans that Unruly would “probably” be his last album. After it, he wrote, he would “drop singles once in a blue moon when I feel like it,” because “it’s been a mad ass run !! giving albums back to back.”

The albums kept coming. Unruly arrived in August 2023, the seven-track Ikigai / 生き甲斐, Vol. 1 followed in June 2024, and Olamidé landed a year later with two Wizkid songs, Dr. Dre on “Indika” and Popcaan among its guests. On Tuesday evening he dated the next one. Time and Space is out Nov. 16, and he opened it up with a surprise lead single, “Burukutu,” whose TG Omori-directed video went up at 6 p.m. Lagos time.

The singles half of that 2022 promise has held up better: before “Burukutu,” his only solo single this year was “Rock Me Gentle” in May, and most of his 2026 went into verses on other people’s records, from Teni’s “Zion” to DaniLeigh’s “Goosebumps.”

“Burukutu” has a roll call in it, and Wizkid gets his line: “Eyan Wizzy 1 on 1, wo’n de be,” with Rotimi RudeBoi and Ezkeys named right behind him, going by the lyrics on Apple Music. The two have been close on record lately. Wizkid is on Olamidé twice, “Billionaires Club” among them.

Nov. 16 also gives the album four months before Olamide headlines The O2 in London on March 25, 2027. He will walk into that arena with a new album to play, five years after saying he was probably done making them.
