In June 2023, Burna Boy filled London Stadium, the first African artist to headline a stadium in the UK. On October 29 he plays a room inside Battersea Power Station that holds 600 people, and the tickets went on sale on DICE at 10:00 WAT today, which was also 10:00 in London.
Every ticket is £40, one general-admission price, and DICE tickets for Apple Music Hall can’t be transferred or resold, so the 600 people who buy this morning are the 600 who get in.
Apple has history with him. He was an Apple Music Up Next artist in 2019, and the venue’s page for the show opens on a line from that spotlight: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” The Hall opened in September with Elton John, and Burna’s date sits in its first run of shows, next to Troye Sivan, Arlo Parks and Charli XCX.
Doors open at 6:30pm London time, with Burna listed on stage at 8pm. Britain’s clocks go back on October 25, so on the night London is an hour behind Lagos: doors at 19:30 WAT, Burna at 21:00 WAT. It’s a 14+ show, and under-18s need an adult with them.
Apple streamed Troye Sivan’s Hall show live on Apple Music on October 13. It hasn’t said yet whether Burna’s night gets the same treatment.
