Ten years after it took Wizkid to No. 1 in America, “One Dance” has now moved 15 million units there.
The Recording Industry Association of America certified Drake’s 2016 hit, featuring Wizkid and Kyla, 15x Platinum, with the award dated Oct 23, 2026. The song went Diamond (10 million units) in December 2022, which made Wizkid the first African artist with a Diamond-certified single in the US, and it reached 11x Platinum in October 2023. One RIAA unit equals one download or 150 on-demand streams.
Released on April 5, 2016, “One Dance” led Drake’s fourth album, Views, and spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, plus 15 straight weeks atop the UK Singles Chart. It was built on a sample of “Do You Mind,” the 2008 UK funky track by Kyla and Crazy Cousinz, with Wizkid’s vocal riding the dancehall-leaning beat from Nineteen85 and Noah “40” Shebib.
The same RIAA update made Views a Diamond album and pushed “God’s Plan” to 2x Diamond. All of it landed the day before Drake’s 40th birthday, which is today.
