Drake Achieves Unprecedented Billboard 200 Milestone With ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOURDrake has cemented his status as one of music’s most dominant forces, becoming the first artist in history to simultaneously debut three separate albums in the top three positions on the Billboard 200
His three new albums, ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR, debuted at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 respectively on the chart dated May 30, marking the first time any artist has held the top three positions on the Billboard 200 concurrently since the chart began publishing on a regular, weekly basis in March 1956.Drake Makes History on Apple Music Nigeria with ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR
All three albums were released on May 15, 2026, with the existence of HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR only confirmed during a livestream on May 14, shortly before the trio dropped.
Record-Breaking Opening Numbers Across Streaming and Sales
The numbers behind the achievement are staggering. ICEMAN debuted with 463,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending May 21, marking the second-largest week of 2026 for any album and the biggest week of the year for an R&B/hip-hop project.
HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR launched with 114,000 and 110,000 units respectively. On Spotify, ICEMAN opened with 140.2 million first-day global streams, making it the biggest album debut of 2026 and the second-largest first-day debut for a hip-hop album in the platform’s history, trailing only Certified Lover Boy.
Combined, the three albums generated more than 196 million global streams in just 24 hours.
Drake Surpasses Jay-Z and Matches Taylor Swift
The chart milestone also comes with significant individual records. ICEMAN gives Drake his 15th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, pushing him past Jay-Z for the most No. 1s among solo men and R&B/hip-hop artists, and tying him with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1s among soloists.
Only The Beatles stand ahead, with a record 19 No. 1 albums. The three debuts also bring Drake’s total to 20 top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, making him the rap act with the most top 10s ever, surpassing Future’s tally of 18.
A notable historical footnote surrounds the achievement: Michael Jackson held the three bestselling albums in the week following his death in 2009, but because the Billboard 200 did not include catalogue releases at the time, Drake is officially credited as the first artist to hold the chart’s top three spots simultaneously.
Inside the Sound and Features of the Three Albums
Each of the three albums carries a distinct identity. ICEMAN boasts 18 tracks and features 21 Savage, Molly Santana and a reunion with Drake’s What a Time to Be Alive collaborator Future. The album leans into Drake’s colder, introspective rap persona.
MAID OF HONOUR contains 14 songs with collaborations from Central Cee, Sexyy Red, Iconic Savvy and Popcaan. This album explores emotional storytelling and relationship-driven themes that longtime listeners have associated with some of his biggest crossover records.
Meanwhile, HABIBTI features 11 tracks with appearances from Sexyy Red, Loe Shimmy and PartyNextDoor. This is Drake leaning into his melodious RnB side.
Drake’s New Era Following For All the Dogs
The three projects serve as Drake’s ninth, tenth and eleventh studio albums and his first releases since his high-profile clash with Kendrick Lamar and 2023’s For All the Dogs, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 402,000 equivalent album units. With ICEMAN, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR, Drake has once again rewritten the commercial rules of hip-hop, further extending a chart run that has already defined more than a decade of modern music.
