NoteSphere, the Lagos-based creative culture platform covering African music, fashion, and culture, is celebrating its third anniversary this August. Since launching in 2023, NoteSphere has built an editorial archive of interviews, features, and reviews centered on the artists, designers, and creatives shaping African culture from within the continent.
Over the past three years, NoteSphere’s coverage has included sit-down interviews and features with emerging and established artists, filmmakers, and designers across music and fashion, alongside cultural commentary and reporting on major moments in African creative industries. The platform’s editorial approach has focused on long-form, interview-driven storytelling that treats its subjects as collaborators in the process rather than sources for a quick headline.

The anniversary comes as NoteSphere reports significant audience growth across its platforms, having grown from zero to nearly 120,000 followers and subscribers, with content reaching over a billion impressions across social media.
“Personally, our three-year anniversary has shown how resilient the team has been over the years, and also made me personally appreciate the beauty of growth and consistency. Our editorial voice has evolved through the years of our existence, and we have most importantly moved from amplifying culture online to stamping our legacy in the physical realm,” said NoteSphere’s founder, Tobi Bankole.

As part of its anniversary, NoteSphere plans to expand into more physical activations, building on the community it has grown online over the past three years. And in that spirit, it curated a three-day weekend of full immersion, from a Friday filmmaking workshop with Akthawicked, to a 5K run with the Patta Running team, to a final day Sunday mixer featuring merch shopping, games, music, food, and drinks.
“We’ve done a lot more physical events this year, and we hope to keep that momentum going. I also see us going deeper into doing more things like giving grants in the next couple of years to empower creatives as they create. That’s where we see ourselves, so the culture can expect more greatness from NoteSphere going forward.”
“We have an amazing team, a taste for excellence, and a desire to keep building towards telling more stories, and that’s never going to stop,” said Emmanuel Oke, Co-Founder and Creative Director at NoteSphere.

NoteSphere invites the culture, its readers, and its partners to keep watching, keep showing up, and keep building alongside it, because the next three years are already taking shape.
