Davido’s Oriadé Debuts at No. 80 on Spotify Global Weekly Albums Chart, Racks Up Over 30 Million Streams in First Week
Davido’s sixth studio album, Oriadé, has posted a commanding first week on streaming platforms, cementing its place among the year’s biggest Afrobeats releases.
The project recorded 30.83 million streams on Spotify globally in its first full week of release, Nigeria alone accounted for a significant share of that total, with Oriadé pulling in 22.72 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in the same period. That figure lands the album at No. 4 on the platform’s list of the ten biggest first-week streaming totals for a project on Spotify Nigeria, placing Oriadé in elite company among the most-streamed Nigerian releases in the market’s history.
On the chart side of things, Oriadé debuted at No. 80 on Spotify’s Global Weekly Top Albums chart, marking Davido’s third career entry on that ranking. The album also made its way onto the UK Official Album Charts, debuting at No. 98 and becoming the fourth Davido project to chart in the UK, following in the footsteps of earlier entries from across his catalogue.
For an artist fifteen years into his career, numbers like these just prove why he’s in the GOAT conversation. Furthermore, they’re proof that Davido’s music has yet to lose its appeal, and his audience has only widened with time. Oriadé’s opening week puts more weight behind his standing as one of Afrobeats’ most consistent global exports, and sets up an interesting stretch ahead as the industry watches whether the album can hold its position once the first-week surge settles.
