The Starlife numbers keep stacking up. A week after opening with 2.13 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in a single day, Victony’s sophomore album has closed out its first full week with 8.44 million streams on the platform, a pace that confirms the album’s opening wasn’t a one-day spike but a sustained run.
That week also came with hardware to match the numbers. Starlife debuted at No. 1 on the Spotify Nigeria Albums Chart and spent its first week atop the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums Chart, while landing at No. 2 on Spotify’s Global Top Albums Chart on debut. Globally, the album pulled in 13.72 million opening-week streams on Spotify, and on Apple Music it has been charting in 75 countries, reaching No. 1 in seven of them.
Victony himself has been riding a personal high alongside the album’s numbers. He posted a career-best single day of 4.09 million Spotify streams during the same stretch, and has now crossed 1.5 billion total streams across all his credits on the platform. “Slick,” the pre-album single that set up Starlife’s run, has passed 40 million streams of its own and is still sitting at No. 1 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart in its sixth week there.
Taken together, the week one picture is less about a single big number and more about consistency across the board: Nigeria, global charts, Apple Music’s international spread, and Victony’s own personal streaming milestones all moving in the same direction at once. For an album built around the idea of an artist finally settling into stardom instead of explaining his way into it, the numbers are backing up the theme.
