“Dai Dai” Adds Gold in Germany and 2x Platinum in Canada to Its Certification Run

Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” keeps collecting plaques months after its release, with the World Cup anthem now certified gold in Germany and double platinum in Canada.

The German certification, confirmed through BVMI’s official database, marks the song’s latest addition to a run that has already carried it to number one on the German singles chart and to recognition as GfK’s Song of the Summer after topping the chart for more than five weeks. In Canada, Music Canada certified “Dai Dai” double platinum, making it Burna Boy’s fourth song to reach that level in the country, the most for any African act. The certification joins a Canadian catalogue that already includes multiplatinum honors for “On the Low” and platinum plaques for songs like “City Boys” and “Last Last.”

The two new certifications extend a run that has made “Dai Dai” one of the most decorated singles of Burna Boy’s career, adding to existing recognitions that include gold in France and double platinum Latin status in the United States. Combined with a chart run that saw the song hit number one in 26 countries and top both of Billboard’s global charts, the certifications reflect just how far the reach of the World Cup anthem has extended since its release in May, still adding new milestones well into the final quarter of the year.
