Kizz Daniel Owo Oluwa single cover art featuring Young Jonn Krizbeatz and Wave Choir

Kizz Daniel’s Thank-You Song Is No. 1 on Nigerian Radio

Since May, Kizz Daniel has been promising two albums this year, Radio Gidi and Uncle K, and until mid-September there was no new single to go with the promise. When a fan guessed the album had kept him away, he answered. “I paused for my mom,” he wrote, “not an album. Lost her this year.”

The song he came back with gives thanks. “Owo Oluwa,” the Radio Gidi lead single with Young Jonn, producer Krizbeatz and Wave Choir, sits at No. 1 on TurnTable’s Official Radio Songs chart this week, eleven days before the album arrives.

It thanks God through family occasions. Kizz promises to dance like David danced, then sings a couplet about joy that will not stop and a heart that has finally settled: “Ọrọ mi dayọ ko dẹkun mọ / Ọkan mi balẹ ko lefoo mọ.” The next lines carry the thanks into a house with a newborn in it. He will hold a naming, an ikọmọ, so he can call the child Tobi, the short form of Oluwatobiloba, his own given name. Then he calls out “ọwọ Oluwa n bẹ,” the hand of God is here, and Wave Choir answers “o n bẹ, o n bẹ” while the drums and bass push in under them. Young Jonn’s verse brings the cost into the room, walking until his leg breaks and refusing to “send my soul for wrong price.”

The video, released at the end of September and co-directed by Asherkine, is dedicated to Kizz’s late parents.

Radio is where the song has climbed highest. The debut at the top gives Young Jonn his fifth radio No. 1 and Krizbeatz and Wave Choir their first. On the Official Nigeria Top 100, where Seyi Vibez’s SWAGUU holds most of the top ten, it is No. 8.

For an album named after radio, that is the right room to win first. Maverick in 2023 was Kizz’s last full-length, the four-track TZA followed in 2024, and in June 2025 he said he was stepping back from the studio to spend more time with his family. Radio Gidi lands on October 16, the same Friday as Fireboy DML’s ZUKO! and Blaqbonez’s NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, and it walks into that crowded day with a song the stations already have at No. 1.

He told that fan he had to keep moving for the rest of the family, and the song he moved with sounds like a house full of them.
