Asake Makes History as First Artist to Surpass 70 Entries on Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart

Ahmed Ololade Asake has made history again. The President of Giran Republic has become the first artist ever to surpass 70 entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, bringing his total to 72 and extending the record he already held as the chart’s all-time leader.

The achievement can only be made possible through a well-seasoned catalog. Built across projects like Mr. Money With The Vibe, Work of Art, and M$NEY, Asake has continuously delivered records that resonate strongly both locally and internationally.

The milestone arrives on the back of M$NEY, his fourth studio album. Released on May 1, 2026, the project marks his first full-length release under his independent imprint, Giran Republic, in partnership with EMPIRE. The album has wasted no time making its presence felt globally, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums Chart and marking another major international milestone for the Nigerian superstar.

The album’s commercial impact was on full display as Asake debuted nine songs inside the Top 20 of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart in a single week, with standout entries including “Forgiveness” at No. 5, “Gratitude” at No. 6, “MCBH” at No. 7, “Rora” at No. 8, and “Wa” at No. 9.

“The landlord” as he’s fondly called by Nigerian listeners seems to be expanding his jurisdiction on a really large scale, who knows where else he could lay claim to next?
