“Dai Dai” Reaches 19x Platinum (Latin) in the US and Crosses 500 Million Spotify Streams

Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” keeps climbing. The World Cup anthem has now been certified 19x Platinum (Latin) by the RIAA, and it has passed 500 million streams on Spotify.

The RIAA plaque represents 1.14 million standard units in the United States. That is a steep rise from July, when the song was certified 2x Platinum (Latin) after crossing 120,000 equivalent units. The song has since added well over a million units, and it has also topped Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay charts.

On Spotify, “Dai Dai” has crossed 500 million streams, becoming Burna Boy’s third song to reach that mark, the most for any African act. Its streaming run has been steady since it topped Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart over the summer. The song passed 200 million streams around the time Burna Boy hit a career peak of 53.8 million monthly listeners, and it has more than doubled that total since.

Both milestones add to what is already the most decorated single of Burna Boy’s career. The song has reached number one in dozens of countries, topped both of Billboard’s global charts, and passed 1 billion views on YouTube. It has also picked up certifications across Europe and North America, including gold in France and Germany, platinum in Spain, and double platinum in Canada.
