Dave performing on stage at the National Theatre in Lagos during his two-night run

Burna Boy Joined Dave for “Location” on His Last Lagos Night

Live update, 11:58pm WAT: Dave is still on stage at the National Theatre. This piece will be updated as the set goes on.

Then Burna Boy walked out. Fan clips posted from 11:48pm show him performing “Location” with Dave, the 2019 song Dave recorded with him, on the last night of the tour. NotJustOk posted its own clip at 11:52pm. It is the moment fans spent two nights hoping for.

Dave was clear about the time. On the poster he put up this afternoon for the second of his two nights at the National Theatre, gates opened at 5pm, Zaylevelten was due at 8, and beside his own 9pm slot sat one word in small red capitals: “strictly.” “Please be on time and punctual today!” he wrote. “Leave early and anticipate traffic!”

At 9:05pm, five minutes after he was billed to start, Dave posted 56 seconds from soundcheck with the caption “Having a little fun at soundcheck earlier,” and it shows him in shorts with a white electric guitar, the band set up behind him and rows of red seats still empty.

At 10:16pm, one fan was still on X telling him he hadn’t come on yet.

When he did, he started where his latest album starts. “History,” his song with James Blake, opens The Boy Who Played the Harp, the record this tour is named for, and the first videos from inside the hall went up at 10:45pm: Dave under red light, the side screens carrying his face to the back of the bowl, the floor holding its phones up. Then he went back five years, and by 10:52pm he had run through “Clash,” his 2021 single with Stormzy, and “Verdansk,” the two songs that sit side by side on We’re All Alone in This Together.

Last night had guests. BOJ walked out for “Lazarus,” and Zaylevelten came back for “Guide Pass,” the moment Lagos was still replaying this morning. Tonight is the final date of The Boy Who Played the Harp tour, and for the first half hour of videos, Dave had the stage to himself.

That changed a little after 11pm. Oxlade joined Dave for “Intoxycated,” per TurnTable Charts’ clip, a 48-second video from the hall posted at 11:12pm. He is the first guest anyone has filmed tonight, and the set is still going.

Zaylevelten was back too. A fan clip from @NoteSphere, posted at 11:24pm, shows him performing “Muzz,” a night after Dave brought him out for “Guide Pass.”
