Nigerian producer Dayo Grey has had an eventful stretch behind the boards. Between production credits on Davido’s 5ive, recognition at the Beatz Awards and a recent appearance on Young Jonn’s Dear London, his work has continued to surface across notable Afrobeats releases.
Grey’s latest credit comes on “Destiny,” the opening track from Young Jonn’s Dear London EP. It follows his work on Davido’s 5ive, where he contributed production to “Anything” and “10 Kilo.”
“10 Kilo” also brought Grey individual recognition at the 2025 Beatz Awards, earning him a nomination for Afro Dancehall Producer of the Year. 5ive has since received a nomination for Afrobeats Album of the Year at the 18th Headies, adding further recognition to a project on which Grey contributed across two records.
A Growing Network of Collaborators
While those releases have made his recent work more visible, Grey’s journey behind the boards extends beyond them. His work within Afrobeats has connected him with names including Lojay, Crayon, Simi and Ayra Starr, alongside other music and sessions that are yet to be released.
Turning the Spotlight on His Own Project
Away from those credits, Grey is also beginning to turn his attention towards a project of his own. The producer is currently working on his debut EP, his first full body of work under the Dayo Grey name. Its title, featured artists and release date remain under wraps while the project continues to take shape.
For a producer whose recent work has largely existed within other artists’ worlds, the EP offers a different perspective, putting Grey’s own musical direction at the centre while bringing together the ideas and collaborations he has been developing behind the scenes.
From 5ive to Dear London, alongside award recognition and new music still in development, it has been an eventful stretch for Dayo Grey, with the music continuing to speak for itself.
