Blaqbonez and Asake on the set of the IKEBE 3000 video

Asake’s Tour Ended in Tiakola’s City, So Paris Heard “Badman Gangsta” With Both Voices

Asake was in a teal leather jacket and a peaked cap, his band in white behind him, when Tiakola walked up to the other mic at Accor Arena for “Badman Gangsta.” It was the last show of the In God We Trust World Tour, and the song had the man who sings its French verse, a short ride from the Cité des 4000 in La Courneuve, where Tiakola grew up.

London heard it without him. When Asake played The O2 on October 15, the setlist Afrobeats Head published included “Badman Gangsta,” and the guests that night were Blaqbonez, BNXN and Darkoo.

The song was built for two. Asake released it as a surprise single in July 2025, and he and Tiakola trade lines in English, Yoruba and French over a sample of Amerie’s “1 Thing,” on a beat from P.Priime and AoD. Spotify counts it at more than 60.9 million plays. In Paris the two of them pointed the room through it side by side.

Paris was always going to be the end. When the tour was announced, Variety’s list ran from a headline set at Afro Nation in Portimão on July 4, through North American arenas from Chicago to Los Angeles in August and September, to The O2 and then Accor Arena on October 24. Live Nation billed BNXN and the South African duo TxC as support.

BNXN did the same two jobs he did in London. He opened with his own set, “Back Outside” included, and came back during Asake’s for “Eja Meja,” their song together.

Blaqbonez joined Asake on stage too, eight days into the life of NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, whose “IKEBE 3000” had already opened at No. 1 on TurnTable’s streaming chart. After the show the pair were still at it, in black leather and sunglasses in a glass-walled corridor, running “IKEBE 3000” again for the phones around them. “2am in paris in a maybach playing Nomadinho,” Blaqbonez posted later.

Asake’s own run leaned on M$NEY, the album he released in April. “Forgiveness” was in it, one of the songs The NATIVE heard a London theatre crowd roar back at him in June, along with “Oba” and “Rora.”

Put the two arena nights side by side and the guest list barely moved. Paris kept BNXN, TxC and Blaqbonez and added one name, the only guest whose verse is in the city’s own language. Asake ended a tour that began in Portugal in July by handing that verse back to the man who sings it, at home.
