The World Cup song got the last word on the global summer.
Billboard’s season-ending Global charts, published today, put Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Songs of the Summer tally for 2026. On the inclusive Billboard Global 200 summer list, the same track finished No. 4, behind Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”
The recaps cover weekly Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts dated June 6 through Sept. 12, ranking songs on streaming and sales from more than 200 territories, as compiled by Luminate. Global Excl. U.S. leaves American activity out of that pool.
“Dai Dai” did not sneak in late. It spent 10 straight weeks at No. 1 on Global Excl. U.S. from the July 4 chart through Sept. 5, and Billboard notes it as the first official World Cup anthem to lead that list. The live calendar matched the run: Shakira and Burna Boy sang it at the June 11 opening ceremony at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca for a reported 80,000-plus crowd, then returned it for the July 19 final’s first-ever World Cup half-time show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., a set that also featured Justin Bieber, BTS, and Madonna.
As reported earlier, the official video had already cleared 1 billion YouTube views. The summer recap is a different receipt: outside the United States, “Dai Dai” was the song of the season.
