Victony’s “SLICK” has topped Apple Music’s Afrobeats Hits: Best of 2026 playlist.
The placement caps a run that has barely slowed since July. “Slick” held No. 1 on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart for four straight weeks, and it became Victony’s first No. 1 on Nigeria’s official singles chart. In the U.S., Billboard reported the song sitting at No. 2 on the Afrobeats Songs chart for a third consecutive week after the release of his album STARLIFE. That’s on top of the 100K U.S. units you reported earlier.
The song has also travelled across the continent. Soundcharts data shows it at No. 1 on Apple Music in Cape Verde and Angola during its first weeks.
Critics have noticed too. OkayAfrica noted that Victony works a Michael Jackson melody into the record. The song was written the same night his earlier single “FRE$H” dropped, and the remix with Don Toliver and Summer Walker later added an American hook for new listeners.
