Asake Sets May 1 Release Date for Long-Awaited Fourth Album, M$NEY

Mr. Money is not just a nickname, and Asake seeks to renew that promise with the announcement of his fourth studio album M$NEY dropping on May 1st, 2026.

Asake made the official announcement on his social platforms, confirming the album will be available on all streaming platforms on May 1st. But he did not just drop a date and walk away. True to the artistic instincts that have defined his rise, he accompanied the announcement with a visual documenting the creation of a marble sculpture in his likeness by Iraqi-Dutch artist Athar Jabar, carved by hand from Statuario marble sourced from Carrara, Italy. The choice of material carries weight. Industry experts believe the Statuario marble, known for its strength and historical significance in Renaissance art, symbolises Asake’s intent to establish himself as an enduring figure in the genre.

It is the kind of announcement that only makes sense when you understand just how much ground Asake has covered to get here and in such a relatively brief time too.

Since his record-breaking debut Mr. Money with the Vibe in 2022, Asake has not taken his foot off the gas, releasing Work of Art in 2023 and Lungu Boy in 2024. Three albums in three years, each one thoroughly distinct from the other. And though 2025 was spent largely on the road rather than in the studio, the hunger never left. M$NEY is proof of that.

The album is released via EMPIRE and follows the collaborative EP REAL, Vol. 1 with Wizkid, which was described as unflinching in its creativity, a homage to Nigerian roots and an expression of progress. M$NEY arrives on its own terms though, building on the momentum of a string of singles that have already set the tone for what is coming.

The album features recent tracks “Why Love,” “Badman Gangsta” featuring Tiakola, and his latest collaboration “Worship” with world-renowned dance producer DJ Snake, which Asake debuted at a historic Red Bull Symphonic performance last November, making him the first African artist to lead the orchestral showcase in the United States. That night at Brooklyn’s King Theatre encapsulated everything Asake has become. A man who was once grinding in obscurity in Lagos, now standing in front of a 33-piece orchestra, performing to a crowd that stretches from individuals across continents.

M$NEY also marks an important structural shift in his career. After his celebrated run with YBNL Nation, the album will be released under Giran Republic in collaboration with Empire Distribution.

Reports indicate the album will contain 13 tracks. M$NEY is expected to reflect self-belief, ambition, resilience, and the realities of chasing prosperity, themes that have always sat at the center of Asake’s artistry.

For a man who spent years grinding before his breakout, and who has since become the defining voice of a generation of Nigerian street pop, M$NEY is not a boast; It is a reckoning, and May 1st cannot come soon enough.
